Externship Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in an externship with Fischer Vet Clinic! We offer a hands-on, personalized experience tailored to your interests and goals, including one-on-one mentorship, case workups, and surgical experience through cases we coordinate with our local shelter. We also provide a stipend and private housing on Lake McQueeney, just minutes from the clinic. When you’re not learning with our team, enjoy everything the area has to offer—from the lake and nearby rivers to live music, local attractions, and a lively downtown social scene. Our goal is for you to leave your externship feeling more confident, capable, and prepared for life after graduation.

  • Our Customer Service Representatives are the first and last people our clients see, making this one of the most important roles at Fischer Veterinary Clinic.

  • Veterinary experience is required. Licensed technicians are preferred, but not required. If you’re an independent learner who wants to be challenged, trusted, and valued as an important part of the medical team, we’d love to meet you.
  • Our technician assistants are the glue that keeps the clinic moving. They help streamline appointments from front to back, jump in wherever needed, and keep our hospital clean, organized, and ready for what’s next.
