About Us
A Long Legacy of Compassionate Care
Since 1982, Fischer Vet Clinic has been rooted in one simple belief:
Veterinary medicine is about caring for people and their pets like family. What began as a small practice founded by Dr. Fischer and his wife, Betty Fischer, has grown into a trusted part of the New Braunfels community—while never losing the heart it was founded on.
1982
Dr. Fischer opened the original clinic in a small shopping center just around the corner before building the clinic’s current location in 1984—back when it stood alone in an open field. As New Braunfels grew around it, the clinic remained grounded in compassionate, personal veterinary care. Through his involvement in the Rotary Club and many local connections, Dr. Fischer built strong relationships throughout the community that helped shape the spirit of the practice for decades to come.
2016
In 2016, Dr. Wendy McGuire purchased the practice with a commitment to preserving the foundation Dr. Fischer created. Together with her family, she continues to lead the clinic with a focus on kindness, integrity, and compassionate care for every patient. That same spirit of compassion extends beyond the families we serve and into the future of veterinary medicine. We are passionate about teaching, mentoring, and creating opportunities for new veterinarians, veterinary students, and team members growing their technical skills and confidence in the field. Supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals is an important part of the legacy we hope to continue for years to come.
TODAY
Our mission remains simple:
Support pets and the people who love them by treating every family as an individual and caring for each pet as our own. Through compassionate medicine, meaningful relationships, and a genuine love for this community, we hope to continue serving New Braunfels families for generations to come.
